Event Manager for Friends of the Earth.

The role required creativity, project management, financial and communication skills, along with the ability to reduce the environmental impact of events. Examples:

  • The Big Ask Live: An exclusive concert with Thom Yorke & Jonny Greenwood
    Production manager. Officially the first date of the Radiohead world tour, the event sold out (1,500 tickets) in less than two minutes and raised 120,000.

  • I-Count: An event on Trafalgar Square, to raise awareness about climate change
    Assistant stage manager. Featured performances from Razorlight and KT Tunstell. The event attracted over 35,000 people and international media coverage.

  • Climate Quiz : A televised game show at the Labour Party Conference
    Production manager, delivering a high quality event, within strict time and security restrictions. The event featured senior politicians as contestants and was broadcast on BBC2s Newsnight.

  • The Big Ask Campaign: Attendance at major outdoor events, to build support for climate change campaign.
    Project manager. The events we attended included the G8 Summit, Big Chill and Wychwood festival. As a direct result over 36,000 people pledged support for the Friends of the Earth campaign.
